Ensuring National Stability: The Imperative of Supporting NGOs

Beyond Humanity: The Case for Supporting NGOs
When we think of supporting NGOs, the first reason that often comes to mind is humanity. However, there are other compelling reasons rooted in self-interest that underscore the importance of supporting these organizations.
Just Imagine:
What would happen if half of your body grew while the rest remained underdeveloped? Could you stand or remain stable without any support?
This scenario mirrors the current state of our nation.
The Four Groups Analogy
Let’s break this down into four groups:
- Group A: They have all things in surplus and live prosperous lives. They are the livelihood generators.
- Group B: Highly competent and achieve sustainable livelihoods easily. They support Group A in generating livelihoods.
- Group C: Competent but struggle due to lack of resources and support.
- Group D: Not competent enough and are fully dependent on society. The nation bears their load.
Groups A & B contribute 100% to the nation’s development, carrying the responsibility of running the nation effectively.
Group C has the capability to contribute to the nation’s growth but struggles due to their circumstances, focusing on attaining their livelihood.
If we don’t take responsibility to improve the situation of Group C, they may slip into Group D, increasing the nation’s burden.
The Chain Reaction of Neglect
- Population of C & D: As the population of Groups C & D increases, the load on Groups A & B also increases.
- Load on A & B: More load results in more stress, both mental and physical, on Groups A & B.
- Efficiency of A & B: Increased stress reduces the efficiency of Groups A & B.
- Growth of the Nation: Reduced efficiency of Groups A & B slows the nation’s growth.
- Lifestyle: The worsening condition of Groups C & D affects the lifestyle of Groups A & B, leading to a downward spiral.
If Group C doesn’t get sufficient support, they risk becoming part of Group D, exacerbating the nation’s load. This leads to higher taxes, reduced subsidies, and decreased public welfare benefits. The nation may have to seek external support, resulting in debt. The more indebted we become, the greater the risk of our resources and wealth falling into the hands of outsiders, potentially leading to a form of modern-day slavery.
The Impact of Illiteracy and Unawareness
If Groups C & D remain illiterate and unaware, they will be less capable of choosing good leadership. They will be easily influenced by false promises, leading to incompetent administration, increased corruption, anarchy, and a host of other issues such as crime, poverty, and a lack of basic infrastructure. This situation hinders the nation’s growth, making us vulnerable to external forces influencing our policies.
The Call to Action
To avoid this bleak future, we need to take responsibility. If we can’t personally address these problems, we should at least support those who are trying. NGOs play a critical role in stabilizing and balancing the system through their projects. They work on increasing literacy rates, generating livelihoods, conserving the environment, and empowering deprived communities.
Supporting NGOs is not just about charity; it’s about ensuring a balanced and stable society where everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the nation’s growth.
By understanding and addressing these interconnected issues, Vivaan Foundation encourages everyone to support NGOs, ensuring a better future for all.
